From first solar cars to Robotic.Style
A short overview, with links to full pages.
Dad found Solar Cup on uzlādēts.lv. It was already summer and registration had passed — Helena was 8, Ervins was 6.
The idea beginsThe 2020 event did not happen, and in 2021 and 2022 we missed registration again. Still, in 2022 the first small models were built: Helena's in June and Ervins' in July.
First modelsWe finally took part. The big ideas were too complex, so we used the 2022 backup cars. Thanks to the organisers' understanding and kindness, we were allowed to start in another class. Ervins took 2nd place in speed, Helena took 3rd place in power.
Solar Cup 2024We registered and travelled to competitions, often still finishing robots on the way. Mini Sumo was Helena's direction; Ervins focused more on LEGO Sumo.
LRČTwo cars in 3.5 days: 20 kg and 1st place in non-standard power; 8 m in 4.8 s in the standard class.
Solar Cup 2025Mini Sumo was still not stable. After the Ventspils hackathon, Ervins started looking toward Antweight, and near the end of the season the first quick Antweight robot was built in one week.
LRČFolk class: 76 kg and 1st place; boat: 3rd place. The biggest story came after the official competition: ~146 kg, until traction started to fade.
