Two cars in 3.5 days — power and speed
Two cars, two classes, two stories.
1st place in the non-standard power class, pulling 20 kg.
The standard-class car drove 8 meters in 4.8 seconds.
It was a busy year. VisLatvijas vidusskola made it possible for Helena to study in a suitable rhythm: finish 7th grade with excellent grades, complete art school with awards and still go on an Erasmus+ trip to Sicily.
Because of that, only 3.5 days remained for building the models. We still managed to build two cars.
After the 2024 lesson, we built more seriously: less hot glue, more screws and stronger mounting.
Thank you, VisLatvijas vidusskola: without the option to learn in a suitable rhythm, this would not have been possible.
2024 context: in the power class we had about 5.2 kg; 1st place, not ours, was around 7–8 kg. Reaching 20 kg in 2025 was a real step forward.
The next year we went into the folk class and aimed for a much heavier load. Officially: 76 kg. Unofficially, with a judge on carts: ~146 kg.
Without event organisers, supporters and sponsors, we would not have a place to compete and test our models.
